Since shortly after its original release in 2008, Olympic Weightlifting: A Complete Guide for Athletes & Coaches has been the most popular book on the sport of weightlifting in the world and has become the standard text for learning and teaching the snatch and clean & jerk.

This all new third edition has been expanded over 150 pages with revised and improved chapters, new chapters, improved organization, more tables and diagrams, over 600 photographs, improved readability, and improved reference functionality with an index, glossary and expanded table of contents.

The book presents a complete progression for athletes and coaches starting with foundational elements such as breath control and trunk stabilization, squatting, balance and weight distribution, warming-up, individual variation; working to complete learning and teaching progressions for the snatch, clean and jerk; covering training program design extensively, including assessment for recruiting and new lifters, and 16 sample training programs; technical error correction, supplemental exercises, nutrition, bodyweight manipulation, and mobility; and a thorough section on competition to prepare both lifters and coaches.

This is great book and has a complete training guide regardless of where you're at in your training. He adds some GPP workouts but I'd rather add a short CrossFit MetCon and call it a day. This is a great book if you're interested in becoming a lifter or improving your lifts.

Fantastic resource from a well respected Olympic lifting coach, author and entrepreneur. Covers all the basics and then some, with great photos and step-by-step progressions, and includes some great sections on mobility, programming, etc. Also has a great section on faults and fixes, which I have gone to a number of times for myself and for others I have coached. This is THE bible for all things olympic lifting related. Gotta have this one on your shelf if you are training or coaching the olympic lifts, or if you are a dedicated CrossFitter.

Exceptional information and technical cues. Comprehensive. More for a coach or cerebral lifter; Not a beginners "how to" manual or "get started" book. It just covers too much....So what exactly should the beginning do? What is the core, the essence of learning the O' lifts?

That is what the Weightlifting Cues book is for. Does it have the same information as the big book? Yes, but now you have the bare bones information in one place for what your coach needs you to master...

Having done weightlifting in college through track and field training, I learned to come to love it. But once I came to love the sport, I began to notice all the little things that I did compared to higher level lifters who were solely dedicated to the sport. With the help of this book and his training programs available on his site, I have been able to turn myself into a more than proficient lifter with great technique. If you are looking for help in becoming more techinal and proficient, then you need not search anymore. This book is THE end all, be all when it comes to being an awesome reference to olympic weightlifting.
